Our Services

One-on-One Grief Support
Carter’s Ride provides immediate, one‑on‑one grief support to parents and families in the hours, days, and weeks following the loss of a child to suicide. A trained support parent—someone who has lived through the same devastating loss—meets the family at their home, a location of their choosing, or an offsite space where they feel safe. This early, compassionate presence ensures families are not left to navigate the darkest moments alone, giving them someone who understands their pain and can help them begin to process the crisis with care and steadiness.

Financial Support
Carter’s Ride provides direct financial support to ease the immediate and ongoing burdens families face after losing a child to suicide. These funds can be used for funeral expenses, time away from work, therapy, meals, respite trips, daycare, or activities for younger children so parents have space to grieve. Every dollar is given with no strings attached, allowing families to use the support in whatever way brings stability, relief, and room to heal.

Bereavement Support at Funeral Gatherings
At the family’s request, Carter’s Ride provides compassionate bereavement support during the funeral, wake, or celebration of life, offering a steady presence for anyone attending. Because suicide loss often leaves loved ones grappling with anger, guilt, unanswered questions, and overwhelming grief, having a trained support person available helps mourners process these complex emotions in a safe, understanding space. Our role is simply to be there — to listen, to support, and to help people navigate the weight of their grief with someone who truly understands.
